Lys Soleia is a sensual essence, a desire for a getaway, caught between the freshness of the shade and a moment in the sun.
Its pure and refined bottle with a golden mesh is a nod to the celebrated Bee Bottle.
For each creation, the Guerlain Perfumer showcases one or two raw materials, drawing their originality from a unique alchemy. Short formulas with incredible intensity and freshness, between simplicity and sophistication.
The first hints of Lys Soleia burst with fresh, green and zesty citrus notes, growing warmer with the sun-drenched radiance of the petals of a floral bouquet: lily, ylang-ylang and tuberose. A sensory journey in which white musk and vanilla notes caress the skin.
Review
The opening with the lily-and-hesperidic opening blast is very pleasant, with none of the two too dominant. The citric tone is incorporated into the mix and pleasant.
In the drydown the subtle waxiness and aroma of the tuberose blends in well with the rise if a lively ylang-ylang, with the latter’s sweetness remaining sufficiently balanced. Then vanilla is added when approaching the base, but this is an unexpectedly unobtrusive vanilla and never cloying in spite of the ylang-ylang’s additional sweetness already tilting this product towards the sweeter range.
Moderate sillage, giod projection and ten hours of longevity – that’s the performance I get on my skin.
